Interested
in consigning your used show clothing through The
Rider's Closet? Here are some commonly asked questions
and answers to get you on your way.
How are my
items sold?
Items are
sold in three ways:
1. Direct sale to other clients;
2. Sale via online auction on Ebay;
3. Direct sale to the public at horse shows.
How
quickly do items sell?
The time
that items sell varies over our 180-day consignment
period. Sometimes
certain items are held a bit longer to be sold at an
upcoming horse show, or require pricing adjustments over
time to ensure the highest return possible.
How do I
get paid?
Since most
clients consign more than one item, The Rider's Closet
waits to issue payment until all of the items are sold,
paid for, and shipped/delivered to the buyer's
satisfaction. Once this occurs, a check for the final
sales total is mailed to the client.
How do
I get my items to you?
Most of
our clients consign their items directly by meeting us
at our horse show shop. Otherwise, package your items
and ship them to us, and we'll take care of the rest!
What
are your consignment policies?
The
consignment period is 180 days. All items must be clean
and free from stains, odors, excessive wear, or damage
to be accepted. Sale prices will be determined by The
Rider's Closet and may be discounted as needed. The
seller's portion of the sales proceeds will be 50% (less
any Ebay fees if applicable). If an item has not sold
within the 180-day period, we will contact the seller to
either claim or continue to keep it with us. If there is
no response from the seller within 14 days of such
notification, the item will become the property of The
Rider's Closet.
